In the box below, draw/trace your region, identify where your country is in that region and where your city/rural community is located.
Physical Characteristics of Asia
Water
Asia is bordered by the Indian Ocean to the south, the Pacific Ocean to the east, and the Arctic Ocean to the north.
Landforms
Asia is the largest continent on Earth and makes up almost a third of Earth’s land surface and is populated by more than half of the Earth’s people. The land of Asia varies greatly, including mountain ranges, fertile plains, deserts, grasslands and rainforests etc.

More than half of the people in the world live in Asia. Most of them cluster in the fertile river valleys and along coasts. These places are among the most densely populated places on Earth. Many people have left farms in the country to live in the cities. They go to the cities in search of a better way of life and find themselves living in shanty towns and begging for food. Science Section
Which cycle of nature do the resources of your country come from (one for region, country and city/community)?
How does the removal of these resources affect the cycle? Does it speed up or slow down a process?
In what ways does the use of this resource have an effect on this cycle or other cycles?
Technology Impacts the Environment
Resources are things valued and used by people. The way people feel about and use resources is affected by technology that is available to them. Since there are big differences between the rich and the poor, there are big differences in the way technology is used.
Using your city/rural community, complete the table about how rich and poor people use technology. If you have to, expand your area and complete the table using your country as the example.
